"Wait, what?" Joseph turned as he closed the door, rounding to face Isaan with a look of curiosity rather than confusion for the first time since they had met. "What do you mean, 'surpass' Michael? He's miles ahead of me! If anything I'll eventually get as good as him when I have that much experience, but..I doubt I'd surpass him."
He frowned and crossed his arms, not out of frustration or anger but due to slight confusion about what Isaan could mean. Obviously, as an Elder God, Isaan would know things that Joseph could not, but he was still just a teenager, and Michael had years more experience than him. Always a curious sort, he was itching to know what Isaan meant, so much that he started to shake a little.

"Doubt is the only thing holding you back," he replied, smiling at Saraneth explaining with him, she was such a good little girl. "Perhaps you should stop focusing on the heights to which those near to you will climb, and focus instead on the heights you want yourself to climb to."
He stood up and lifted Saraneth with him before popping her back down on the ground, knowing she liked to be independent and to look as important as she could when she was around him - being a princess in the Underworld and all. Isaan was dressed in a fine black three piece suit, looking much more refined and aged than he had once done, but still youthful and handsome as back then - though his eyes spoke of much greater experience.
"Like many planets, the Earth will always need a protector and Michael will not always be here to protect it." he said, looking down at Joseph who looked every bit the lost boy, Isaan had seen that in many people before who he had helped, a large majority of Dragos Midnight's inquisitors had been in the very predicament he was in. Of course Isaan knew what Joseph really was, but he had deemed that it was for Joseph to discover, not to be told and coddled.
"All things in time, Joseph." With that, Isaan was gone, no flashy exit as he had once done, rather he just disappeared and took little Saraneth with him so she didn't get herself into any trouble, and he figured she would like to come with him to his next meeting too.
