Star Wars: Our Final Chapter
Part One
They had come in the night and struck the first blow in exacting their revenge. The fire consumed the ruins of the house and lit up the night sky like a beacon, alerting the rest of the small Naboo village to the tragedy. There was no sign of the bodies of the occupants, likely buried beneath the rubble and flames, nothing but a pair of visual implants that lay blackened by the heat on the outskirts of wreckage. Nobody in the village had really known the people who lived there, a Chiss woman and a human man who had worn those implants from time to time the villagers seemed to recall.
Meanwhile, on Andara Lord Krae stood backed into a wall, surrounded by a contigent of the remnants of the imperial army. He'd seen his wife fall to their blasters already, but he couldn't stay to avenge her, he had to warn his former comrades that they had be found - and that the imperial remnant would be coming for them too. That message was never going to get out now, he couldn't fight through the soldiers and several Sith by himself, skilled as he was with a lightsaber he was still just one man. Closing his eyes he took a calming breath, he'd have his revenge for his wife then and hope his lord would forgive him his passing before his duty was done.
Lord Krae lay on the ground, lifeless, a few dozen soldiers and a couple of Sith dead around him. His chest armoured had a massive burn mark through it, which had cut into him too clearly caused by an enemy's blade, their leader had seen to his demise and the last thought on his mind was whether or not he had done right by his life. The bodies were left there to be discovered in the light of the next day, the people of the city afforded his body a proper burial and he passed from the world free of the burdens of duty and with his honour as a warrior in tact.
The explosion over Dxun had to have been sabotage, there was no other explanation for the way the ship had gone up. Rang had only survived because his power armour was sealed from the vacuum of space, but it wouldn't save him as he plummeted toward the Onderon moon, it was simply physics that a fall like that would kill anyone regardless of the armour they wore. Reaching with extreme difficulty to his left gauntlet, he managed to press a button which sent off a signal through subspace that only his allies would recognise - those that were still left anyway.
The signal continued even after his body was broken by crashing into the moon, his bones shattered in his armour and dead instantly, it wasn't a fitting end for a Mandalorian who should have died face-to-face with his enemies. But he'd honoured his debts to his clan, even if they didn't refer to themselves as such, that was what they'd become. He only hoped the message would reach them on time, not knowing of course that four of them had already met their end at the hands of their enemies, it was a near simultaneous strike to remove them all at once with little time to warn one another.
