Altera, The Dream World
Terrain
Asuren technically consists of one large continent as all of the land is connected. There are oceans on Asuren however from a technical view these oceans could be considered as immensely large lakes in that you could walk around them if you desired, though doing so would add largely to your travel time compared to crossing these "oceans" by boat.
Races
Elvin - Found in their golden cities of the north, they are dagger eared with fair complexions and are the only race to share a direct border and be in constant conflict with the Noth. They are extremely gifted in the magical arts and worship the God 'Alator', who is said to be the sky God. Speculation among the higher races of the Universe believe Alator is actually the Seraph Gabriel who holds the title 'Lord of Skies' in the Heavens.
Faeyn - Green skinned and dagger eared they look like they could be cousins of the Elvin, however no genetic relation exists between the two races. They live in forest cities and are extremely reclusive, they believe in the preservation of nature and trust outsiders very little. They, along with the Draken, are one of the few races on Altera who are semi-aware of the divine order through dealings with the Faey who they draw their name from, in their tongue it means 'Faey Child' (this is how Faeyn surnames work, for example Cerias is Alaister's son, to Faeyn his name would be: Cerias Alaistern).
Darreth - Essentially human, but with a larger range of eye colours than those of the planet Earth where true humans live. They live in many separate smaller countries rather than one unified nation, however there is reasonable peace and trade between these countries, though humans have been known to war with one another through the centuries. They are known for the College of Lendorn where humans with magical aptitude learn to be wizards.
Wolven - The Wolven are similar in appearance to the higher race Pyrians, that is to say they are large sentient Lycans. They live in tribes within the barrens and deserts of Altera's equator line, normally tribes have little contact with one another and when they do it normally ends in battle. The Wolven have a strong sense of honour as warriors and believe in the guidance of animal spirits to lead them through life and into the afterlife upon death. Though the tribes are normally not unified, any chieftain can call for the Grorawl, a unification of all tribes in a great crusade for honour and glory.
Vardun - Vardun are known beyond their own borders as Dwarves. They live in great mountain halls and worship the Gods of the earth itself, their great machines make day to day life a luxury and their craftsmanship is second to none. They are ruled by a council and a High King, though the Dwarves are incapable of magic they have a strong affinity for runes, which give the same effect as magic and can even be more devastating. They, like the Faeyn, do not often leave their borders or trust outsiders.
Sheg - The Sheg are large hulking men with black skin and look similar in appearance to the Uruk-Hai of Tolkein's work. They live in tribes much like the Wolven, however they have no concept of honour or spiritualism, they are intelligent certainly but their intelligence is put toward nothing but mindless slaughter. The Sheg share a border with the Darreth and Wolven realms, they are often manipulated and twisted by the Noth to unify and wage vicious war on the humans and the Wolven tribes.
Noth - The Noth are not a race so much as the name for a group of people. They are the undead, sentient beings in many different forms. The rulers of the Noth are vampires and very rarely, undead Draken though they are extremely rare, it is said the true overlord of the Noth is indeed one of these unliving Draken. Unlike most undead, the zombies and skeletons are also sentient, capable of speech and thought and this makes them much more dangerous than the undead of many other worlds. They worship no Gods, for they consider their power godly, they are also connected by some form of basic hive mind that does not bind them all together in a true sense but does allow them to communicate great distances at all times.
Draken - The Draken were wise and powerful beings, dragons as the Darreth call them though long ago they disappeared, many consider them to be a myth at this point thanks to the undead Draken of the Noth rarely if ever being seen and the true Draken not being communed with for many ages. Once they had a mighty empire of underground cities much like the Vardun, but their last city was abandoned long ago for unknown reasons. The only race who still communicate with the Draken are the Vardun, whose mountain cities connect with the world beyond the southern mountains at the pole where the Draken retreated into seclusion. Some Draken take on the form of the mortal races of Altera and move among them unseen, they are fully aware of the divine order after much contact with the people of Dragos Midnight and Alaister Vigil while they were present on Altera.
